I'm wondering if I'm the only person who goes off into long stream of conscious bits when replying to emails and then ends up scrapping her message and sending something a bit more coherent because of some kind of fear of freaking the other person out. I don't think it's just me.... but it could be. So this is for the crazies or sort-of-crazies or the people who want to experience someone else's craziness for a bit or who just want to feel a bit less isolated in their own craziness. This is not for people who are feeling judgy or critical. Please be open-minded if you choose to join this swap. What you will do is write an email to your partner that begins with the prompt that they leave in the comment section. However, you are absolutely free to veer as far away from the original prompt as your consciousness will take you - obviously :) If you find that you cannot take off from the prompt that your partner has posted, feel free to start your email in any way that gets you going. This is not about limiting or controlling or guiding your writing; it's about giving you a place to start if you need one. I'm hesitant to put any kind of clear length specification because I don't imagine than one can limit their streams, but please be reasonable and send a fair chunk of text to your partner to give them a chance to 'get in your head'. When rating, please be nice. The last thing I want is for swappers to stress about how their letters will be received or worry if what they are sending is 'stream of consciousness-y' enough. I have no idea if this will appeal to anyone, but if you are intrigued by the idea but would rather do this in a letter format please leave a comment and I might change the swap or possibly create a second one to accommodate for this preference. Newbie friendly, no recent 1's or 3's unless you PM me with an explanation first. |
