Bookmark swap August

I'm ready to get started on these. I'm thinking of maybe hard cardstock base for mine with maybe a fabric design. Just an idea. I like to have fun with my bookmarks.

I'm definitely thinking about joining this swap, but, just to be safe, I'm going to make the bookmarks before I join. Don't want to accidentally flake because of lack of time or anything, right? >.<

Alright, question. I've made both of mine, so obviously they wouldn't retail for five dollars. Is this acceptable?

I mean, they're not garbage--I would genuinely like to receive bookmarks similar to these, but I figured I'd ask the participants (one of whom will obviously become my partner)

Would you be bummed/angry/frustrated/irritated if both of the bookmarks you received were handmade, and not storebought?

I would love it! I prefer handmade because they are unique ... I am making mine also... i too was wondering how that retail price would work out if one was making theirs.

Handmade is fine by me! The last exchange I received all handmade ones and the needlework one I've been using constantly since I've received it. I haven't used the others yet because I'm really just reading one book at time currently.

on the 17th as soon as I know who my partner is I'll be sending a handmade (not by me, no time) and something else ;)

I am positively DYING waiting for the partners to be handed out. My envelope is all ready to be sent out, sitting on my desk begging to be mailed.

Sure! My envelopes talk all the time. Right now mine is saying 'when are you gonna get your butt in gear and fill me?!' ha I need to work on mine this week...

Hi, I'm leaving the same message in different swaps I'm in: "As I moved to a new house I didn't have internet for a while (too long I must say) and just after... we had a terrible storm last sunday and ran out internet connection :o( sooooo, today was a surprise since I wasn't expecting it until next week!!! I have to ask my swap partner to excuse me but I really didn't know how to sent my communication to confirm that I sent my items! Please Michele if you read this (I'm also sending an e-mail if this thing stays on long enough) I just want to let you know that I already sent you my package. Sorry again.

Liz sent me 3 beautiful bookmarks: , a cute kitty magnetic bookmark where Liz wrote a small note :), a gorgeous asian-style with an antique style bead-coin alike with a very important message: PEACE and a very original interlocking magnetic bookmark also with a a message that is so right for me to read today: "HOPE springs exulting on triumphant wing." Thank you very much for the bookmarks and the messages! I will upload shortly a picture of my newest bookmark adition :)

Thanks Karla! One has roses, and is crocheted all around the edges, one is about Texas, and one has a cute cat marionette on it!

This not getting anything is getting to be a drag. this is the second book mark swap Ive been in & the second time not receiving any book marks.
