Description:

Flattery will get you everywhere! For this swap you will send 3 packets of cocoa, with your compliments.

Look at your partner's profile and choose 3 things to compliment them on. Write each compliment on separate papers and wrap them around each packet of cocoa in a pretty way. I'll leave the details up to you, just try to make your partner smile. :o)

The cocoa packets can be all the same or different...sender's choice. Just be sure to include 3 nicely stated compliments, one wrapped around each packet.

This is an international swap, but I believe Australia cannot accept food products through the mail. I want this swap to be open to all, but please do not join if you know that these packages are not allowed. I will be screening participants/countries before assigning partners. Please be great and rate!

Rules:
1. Send on time.
2. Rate your partner.
3. No flaking!

For those who join this swap, here's your first compliment:

"I Like Your Style!"

I thought cocoa and hot chocolate were the same, but I guess there are differences. Either is acceptable for this swap, so please be flexible. And make sure that the mixing instructions are provided. Thanks!

GREAT swap idea :-D

How big do the packets need to be?

LadyStephanie 03/18/2010 #

Single serving packets. The size that makes a nice cup of chocolately goodness for one!

LadyStephanie 03/24/2010 #

Please send commercial sealed packets, not homemade concoctions. There are some lovely flavors on the market that are simply delicious!

Australia can recieve food through the mail, as long as there are NO fruit pieces in it.

Here is what the USPS says about sending to Australia:

USPS - Country Conditions For Mailing - Australia

"Prohibitions:

Coins; bank notes; currency notes (paper money); securities of any kind payable to bearer; traveler’s checks; platinum, gold, and silver (manufactured or not); precious stones; jewelry; and other valuable articles are prohibited. Fruit cartons (used or new). Goods bearing the name “Anzac.” Goods produced wholly or partly in prisons or by convict labor. Perishable infectious biological substances. Radioactive materials. Registered philatelic articles with fictitious addresses. Seditious literature. Silencers for firearms. Used bedding.

Restrictions:

Meat and other animal products; powdered or concentrated milk; and other dairy products requires permission to import from the Australian quarantine authorities."

Since hot chocolate can contain powdered milk, I would consider this a problem for this swap. This is not supposed to be a complicated swap. And I'd like for everyone who particpates to receive a lovely envie of chocolatey goodness!

If I think that a destination country could possibly have an issue with the packages we are trying to swap, I would not be doing my job as a swap coordinator if I allowed those swappers to participate. So far we have swappers from:

USA UK Scotland Norway Switzerland

No issues that I can foresee. Happy Swapping!

IMPORTANT!!!

All airmail overseas is on hold because of the volcano that erupted in Iceland the other day. Volcanic ash has grounded all flights to/from that region.

I am extending the send date by a few days. Hopefully mail will be back to normal soon!
