This is the US-only version of Jasmine's Europe-only comment a book swap, posted with her permission. Thanks, Jasmine! The task is to read a book and write comments in it. You can do this in any way that makes you comfortable: write in the margins, use sticky notes, include extra sheets of paper to keep the book pristine, whatever you prefer. Please make your comments neat (and PG-13 rated unless you check with your partner first), and don't obscure the text of the book - you want your partner to be able to read it, too! What kind of comments you include is up to you. Mark passages you like, passages you don't like, things that remind you of yourself or your life. Comment on characters, situations, the author, or give a literary critique if that's your specialty. Give lots of your own opinion and make it personal! Books can be brand new or from a used book store, as long as they're in good condition. The book is sender's choice; ratings are not dependent upon receiving a genre you prefer. That said, I'd encourage you to check your partner's profile and, IF you share a favorite genre in common, try to find something you'd both like! This is not required, though. DO try not to send something they say they hate, though! Also, no religious texts unless your partner agrees to it ahead of time or states in their profile that it's something they're into. I recommend sending this via media mail to reduce cost unless you are including extras that exclude you from using media mail. Swap Rules: This is a time intensive swap, so please only sign up if you can devote time to reading the book and writing good comments for your partner. Minimum 4.5 rating. If you have any recent 1s, please PM me first and explain the situation. I know everyone screws up once in a while, but I will ban anyone who looks suspicious. Newbies are welcome with at least 2 snail mail swaps or a PM to me and a well filled out profile. I will angel this if anyone flakes, but I don't think it will be a problem! Please do not hesitate to PM me with any questions or concerns! Happy swapping, and have fun. :) |
