Description:

One of the prettiest things I've received on a wish group was an inchie made into a pendant so for this swap we will create one necklace for one partner that includes an inchie that you have created (You can add other things to the necklace as well if you like, or more than one inchie as well - entirely up to you!)

If you enter the words 'inchie jewelry' in the search at flickr you'll see some beautiful examples.

The inchie should have some backing other than paper for durability, the one I received is fabric. I've seen some neat metal inchie settings on etsy that would work well. It should also have a chain or some other way of hanging it around one's neck, of course ;) Included with the necklace there should be a note about how you made it and it's title!

Let's have some fun with this one and be really creative!

I am testing polymer clay and felt. So far I like the polymer best. Cool swap!

oh I hadn't thought of clay! what a good idea!

Are you baking the clay or is it the kind you leave out and it hardens? Clay is a great idea!

Wait, there is a swap involving inchies that I wasn't aware of? Blasphemy I say!

Oh, and polymer clay, Tara. It works awesome.

Oh, and shrinky dink paper, too.

Can someone please tell me where to find shrinky dink supplies??

grimmlynn 02/25/2010 #

There are plenty in my craft room...just drive on down. I am happy to share. ;-) Hobby Lobby carries them and several stores on-line. Just do a google shopping search for shrink art paper. I hope that helps!

Michael's is the only store in my area that carries the actual Shrinky Dink brand. There are a few other craft stores that sell an off brand and I read that it doesn't work as well as the real thing. Don't know personally if that is true or not, but I just stick to the usual SD stuff. I am in on this one! I have never made an inchie, but now is a good time to try it!

LOL! Thank you! It does help. The laughs never hurt either! :-)
