I am a new officer to the group and wanted to get a fun group swap going and am very interested in a past swap, Trash to Treasure. Snoopy filled me in on all the details :o) For this swap you will have 1 partner. You will send them one item that you altered that was purchased from a thrift store. You will go to your favorite thrift store and purchase an item that has potential, so to speak, and you will alter this item for your partner. Please read your partner's profile and alter this item into something they will love to have received and will enjoy using. Some examples are: *A vintage pillowcase: the fabric used to make something fun such as a coin purse, apron, bag, pin cushion, and so on. *A vintage cookie/candy tin: the tin can be altered into a cute storage container or if it is smaller, something that can be used to hold important items in your purse. *Random game pieces: these can be altered into something mixed-media chic. A collage, magnets, jewelry, a nice home decoration and so on. *Gameboard: this can be altered into a notebook/journal or cut down to size and collaged on for a piece of fun artwork for your partners wall. *Sweater: the fabric from this can be altered into a brooch, a coin purse, a tea/coffee cup cozy, or even coasters. The options are just endless and there are millions of other fun creative things that can be altered just from picking them up at a thrift store. Recap: *1 partner *1 item picked up from a thrift store with potential *Sender's choice, but try to check out your partners profile for ideas. *Give your best effort and send something you would love to receive. *Be Creative and Have fun! That is what it is all about :o) I will put two weeks to do this, but please if that is not enough time, let me know and I have no problem switching things around! (I borrowed this photo from www.archiscraps.com. They have some fun ideas for altered journals.) |
