Here's a great way to get rid of the ugliest fabric or seemingly useless scraps in your stash. Sew something "cute" that you'd normally use with your favorite fabrics and patterns. Instead, use the ugliest (or your least favorite) fabric. It should be well-made and well-constructed. Just because the fabric is ugly doesn't mean the workmanship can be. You might be surprised and actually like the final product! This is, of course, Sender's Choice. I suggest making something useful or fun, like a wristlet wallet or a dotee, or whatever your specialty is. Also, if you have an Etsy or Artfire store, or a blog where you sell your products, be sure to include that with your item so we can create a network. Some people are great at making clothes. Others are great at making quilts, and still others specialize in creating purses or dolls. You can always post a comment here directing us all to your storefront, too! Please no ratings under a 4.8 and at least five swaps under your belt to participate. If anyone has any questions, please let me know! EDIT Just making sure everyone knows this is a sewing project, not just an ugly fabric or scrap swap. Use your judgment about amount to use. I'd say no more than a fat quarter's worth of fabric or scraps would be enough for the project, but if you want to make something using more, then go for it! Make something cute from ugly fabric, or a bunch of ugly scraps. |
