Description: | |
In this swap you will make one hand carved stamp for your partner that is at least 1 inch x 1 inch in size (or 3/4 inch x 1.5 inch, in case you're using the staedtler erasers). This swap is sender's choice so you cannot rate down if you're not completely in love with the design you get. Senders are more than welcome to make a stamp based on their partner's profile, if they'd like, but it's not required ... You may test your carved stamp by stamping it with some ink to see how it looks but (if you can) try using light/white or non-permanent stamp ink. And when you mail your stamp out, you will need to make sure you have it padded well enough so that it doesn't break during the mailing. Writing "fragile" or "do not bend" on your package is suggested. Do not just mail these out in paper envelopes as it might not survive the entire shipment.

If you've never made a hand-carved stamp before, you can view some stamp-carving tutorials HERE and HERE (the flickr tutorial continues here)
If this swap goes well, I plan to host a few more hand-carved stamp swaps with different themes (including one that is profile based.)

swap image was borrowed from the eraser stamp tutorial on Geninne's Art Blog some of the ideas for this swap were borrowed from @MrsMJ 's Hand carved stamp swap, but I changed a few things for my own swap and added new rules & req's. |
