Description:

First, let's get all the bleh rules out of the way: You must have at least a 4.98 rating, and at least ten completed flat mail swaps. No ones or no-sends. I will check profiles. Also, this swap is International.

You will be making an artist trading card that has anything to do with nature! For example: Trees, people, animals, etc. Be creative!

Have fun with this! Use new mediums, look for inspiration in your everyday life. Maybe even include a note as to why you chose what you did. Edit: Please do not cover the ATC with stickers, as that would defeat the purpose of the "artist" part. Also, all artwork on the card should be your own.

I hope that everyone who joins has a positive experience! If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, etc., feel free to contact me via this post thread or message.

Sorry, could you clarify that apparently casual comment that actually has a rather important bearing on how the card is created?

You may not use any 'printed items that you did not make'? So that rules out not only stickers, but also all forms of collage, or digitally printed and then embellished cards...

While this sounds like a lovely theme, I'm left wondering just exactly what you are looking for, so perhaps you could specify in positive terms rather than one brief negative:

Eg. 'These ATCs should be hand-drawn or hand-painted, and any embellishments should be handmade, not purchased, or come from nature....'

Masterbard, I would gently disagree (with a raised eyebrow query to the host) that it rules out our own digital prints, as long as they are of our own photographic or digital art. I do wonder about the collage part though--I don't usually make collages out of paper that I make. It's a nice idea, but I have so many, many bits and pieces of clippings and torn interesting bits that I use them with abandon in my collages. I've even been known to use a sticker or two now and then, but only if they are really necessary as a minor component, unless I make them of my own photos/digital art and my handy Xyron machine...

Those rules do take some away form the "Sender's Choice" aspect of this swap--though I do love the theme.

Wish I had a Xyron machine... :) my basic essential tools are scissors and glue, and I've been known to challenge myself to make an attractive ATC meeting artistic standards from the scrap in the bottom of my craft box or the bits left from another project. Remarkably satisfying!

But I digress - as you note, I'm only looking for more clarification. Shall answer your message via PM in a sec as well!

So sorry for confusing you all! I meant to type "items that you did not make", as in, don't use other people's handmade stuff. I'll fix it and word it better. Twobluecrows makes a good point, not allowing stickers does take away from sender's choice, so I'll fix that too. Once again sorry for the mix up. Thank you for letting me know.

Wonderful! So nice to have a really considerate and thoughtful host!!

I'm in!

BTW, I've created a Use a Sticker--collage ATC swap just to showcase those ol' stickers and get this out of our system! All for fun and creativity! Please come join us!

Wanted to join but saw requirement of 10 completed flat mail swaps. I've completed 8 and have all 5s and mailed Poinsettia ATC this morn. "Sunshine HoneyBee"

Update to my prev comment: I've completed 9 Flat Rate swaps but the Fav Movie ATC sign up date has not passed so partners have not been assigned yet. I have my Fav Movie ATCs ready to be mailed when partners are assigned.
