Here’s your chance to take part in a fun challenge to create a special embroidered item tailored to your partner! Each person who signs up for this swap must list three preferences for item, theme and colour in the Comments section below. When the swap starts, you will check your partner’s preferences and embroider something which incorporates at least one of their listed elements from each category. For example, if my partner lists…
… I might embroider a tea towel with black insects crawling all over it, or embroider a fancy letter “K†in green thread onto a piece of red felt and glue it to a matchbox, or embroider a red and black mushroom onto some green fabric and attach a magnet to the back. Your embroidery can be something you designed yourself, or you may prefer to use a commercial embroidery pattern. Likewise, the item can be something you made yourself, or a shop purchased item. Feel free to embellish your item, but please make embroidery the main focus. Whatever you make should be sturdy and appropriately packaged to arrive safely with your partner. Here are some other examples of items: charms; hair clips; brooches; pin cushions; items suitable for framing; ATCs; postcards; aprons, stuffies; tote bags. Pretty much anything that can be embroidered. Other examples of themes are woodland creatures; abstract; dots; stripes; kawaii; vintage; cats; letters; numbers; doodles; tattoos; garden; outer space; lazy daisies; religious iconography, googly eyes….whatever theme or style you like. This swap is by invitation only, but if we know each other and I haven't invited you and you want in, please PM me for the password! Participants must have zero unexplained no-sends. If you sign up for this swap, you need to send on time (or communicate with your partner before the deadline if something comes up), and rate your partner fairly as soon as possible after receiving your goodies. Note - if your partner is affected by the UK postal strikes, please be patient and be prepared to extend the send/receive deadline if necessary. Have fun! |
