Description:

Yes, the time is approaching to think Christmas!

For most of you lucky ones, the weather is cooling down and the craft stores are breaking out the big guns to entice you to get moving for the jolly season.

This swap you will make 1 oranment for 1 partner to hang on their tree. so that is one ornament per partner

edited 10-22 You can use any combination of materials you wish ( fabric, fibers, buttons, beads, charms, thread, polymer clay, glass, ceramic, wire, Cross stitch etc). If you make a stuffed ornament or one that otherwise requires filling/stuffing; the stuffing must be made from new material. I'm pretty open here, just please put some effort, an circle with some stickers slapped half-heartedly is not something one would be proud to have hanging on their tree!

•the ornament must be between 2 - 5 inches in length (without the hanger) and must include a way to hang it (the hanger not included in the required length). You may either use a short length of ribbon, string, or just attach a loop that can be used to attach a hook at a later date. Please use your best judgement on the width. It is senders choice whether it is 2-d (flat) or 3-dimensional.

•Please take your partner's taste into consideration - ie, if they don't like a certain color, don't use it. Please do not send religious inspired ornaments unless your partner specifically states they like them. Look to their profile for consideration/inspiration and please be sensitive to allergies, favorites and dislikes. By signing up for this swap, you are agreeing to send/receive an ornament that contains christmas themes (aside from religion, if you choose not to), so please no requests against something iconic for christmas for example: nothing red and/or green, no snowmen, no santas, no christmas trees, no stockings, etc). If you have any extreme dislikes, please list them here or your profile.

•Use care when packaging your ornament to insure it arrives safely, send it in a bubble mailer or otherwise protect it from getting broken or damaged, especially if it includes delicate materials.

Please rate once you receive your ornament, and do so as fairly as you can. Please do not rate based on whether or not you like the ornament, but instead that it meets requirements.

(many of the rules are borrowed from a swap and also plain commen sense (swap by @happylilartist )

I would join this, but quite frankly, I have gotten ornaments made out of paper before and they were really lacking.

I make my ornaments out of paper and they are definitely not lacking. I use a paper mache like technique, so they are sturdy, sealed and can be used for years. I'm sorry that you have had bad experiences with other paper artists in the past.

I received a wreath that consisted of separate pieces of paper folded in half and sandwiched in together at an angle to make a pointy wreath, about 3 " in diameter. I picked it up by one of it's points and it fell apart. The hanger was a paper clip cut in half. She called it origami and maybe it was, but it must have taken her 2 seconds to put it together. Maybe she had done a quick paint wash in it - no other decorations. Yes, I was new and it really put me off. I am super careful when I join now. Sorry for all the drama.

I think everyone here will probably be really good at their craft what ever it is and put their heart into it. I will be checking profiles of course. it's ok to voice a concern :)
