Never picked up a pair of knitting needles before? Or have you already knitted a couple of items but still consider yourself fairly new to the craft? If that's the case, than this swap may be just right for you. For this particular swap, you must knit one (1) dishcloth for your partner. Color and pattern are completely up to you. If you wish to tailor your dishcloth towards your partner, by all means, go for it but it isn't mandatory. Even though this swap says beginners, long time knitters are more than welcome to join and help out those who maybe haven't been knitting as long. Anyone who joins, though, should keep in mind that this swap is geared towards people who have either never knitted before or those who are still new to the craft. As such, your dishcloth may not exactly be museum or art-gallery worthy. With that said, this is not an excuse to not send your best work. All participants MUST try their hardest and send something they would like to receive in return. If you're looking for more advanced or skillful knitters or if you're expecting a great piece of art, this may not be the swap for you. The particulars Newbies may join if and only if they've completed and been rated for 5 mail swaps and have a completely filled out profile. Mail swaps DO NOT include anything sent via e-mail. If all you've done thus far are e-mail swaps, you might want to hurry and get 5 rated mail swaps under your belt if you intend to join. No less than a 4.8 rating. If you feel that you've been rated unfairly, you may take the matter up with me privately and I will then determine whether or not to allow you into the swap. You must make one dishcloth out of a strong enough material. This can be cotton, wool, etc., whatever you feel will best hold up in the kitchen. Remember, this is something that is bound to get a lot of use and abuse so you want it to be strong and sturdy. I will be thoroughly checking each and every member that joins this swap. That means that I will be reading and rereading your profile, checking the Swap-bot Flakers group, and going through the PFs. With that said, I reserve the right to remove anyone that I think is fishy. If you feel that you have been banned unfairly, please send me a message and we can see about working something out. Since we're all beginners at this, I'm giving everyone a month from the sign-up date to the send-by date. That way, you should have ample time to find a pattern and start knitting. Since this isn't a partner specific swap, you can start your dishcloth right away if you choose. Please PM me if you have any questions, complaints, etc. Please try not to post any questions in the comments section as I may not see them in time. If you need some help finding a pattern, please let me know and I will provide you with some links. Remember This swap is meant to be fun and meant to be practice. Try to find a pattern that will be easy for you. Don't feel as though you have to try and find the most complicated pattern out there. If any advanced knitters want to offer their advice and/or aid, please feel free to do so. Once again, have fun. |
