Description:

For the swap you will make 2 partners a CD. All the tracks must contain a name. Not a nickname like mom, dad, uncle...though that would make a cool swap also! but actual names! The CD should have at least 15 tracks. Please include a playlist with the song and artist!

  • This swap is international.

  • Newbies welcome with filled ut profile. That means more than 1 or 2 lines!

  • A rating of 4.8 or above please.

I reserve the right to ban people who look fishy.

Just a note- Some people burn in MP3 format. This is to get more songs on a disk! However, it sometimes will not work on CD players or car CD players but WILL work on the computer and dvd players. Please add a comment if you would prefer audio or MP3 version in the comments section

Sounds like a fun swap. But I don't know how to burn cds/tracks LOL

@Darleneh710 It's easy to burn in Itunes. All you have to do is click 'File', then 'Create a New Playlist'. Drag or copy all the songs that you want to be on the CD into this new playlist. Once you have all of the songs you want then you just click 'File' again and choose the option 'Burn Playlist to Disc'. The bottom of the Itunes window will tell you how long CD is and how many MB you are using. 1.3 hours is about the max. HTH!

I would definitely prefer to have a CD that will play in my car!! I don't honestly know the difference/how they put so many songs, but I know I have received CDs in the past that will not play anywhere but in my computer, and that's no fun!!

ElizabethObviously 08/27/2009 #

well for me I prefer mp3 cds because my car does not have a cd player and i listen to music only on the computer.

washingtonmaverick 08/27/2009 #

I checked my play list and I don't have 15 songs with names in the title. I was surprised how many I did have though and from the wide genre they came from!

ElizabethObviously 08/28/2009 #

well im sure you can find more!!!! :)

I would definitely an audio CD I could play in a boombox... I thought I was going to have so much trouble with this, even though I was so excited. I figured I wouldn't have enough songs. XD I just went through my CD collection and I'm DEFINITELY good. LMAO! Funny how you don't really notice them until you go looking for them....

Yah I know right! I think I might start another CD swap..call it "It's All Relative" with...can ya guess??? titles or bands with relatives lol..

I purchased a lot of my music from iTunes, so I can't necessarily burn everything I want as an mp3, because they make it difficult to convert their stuff, at least until recently. If I do this swap, would I have to burn the CD as an mp3 if that's what my partner prefers? Or is that more of a suggestion?

If it's dependent on partner preference, I'd better skip it and wait for another, because it would really cut down on what I have available to share. :-)

it is pretty much preference :) but audio is fine in general!

hipmama1970 09/ 1/2009 #

Thanks, I just didn't want to mess up someone's day!

I prefer CD, because I listen to them in the car, but I can manage them either way! :-)

i prefer audio CDs :)

Umeko 09/ 3/2009 #

I have my playlist down already im so excited! :D I dont mind if its for use in a CD player or MP3's as I use them on my computer anyway :D

whosthatgrrl 09/ 3/2009 #

I would like a regular audio cd as I listen to all my music in the car....

clsampse 09/ 3/2009 #

I'd much prefer audio CD over mp3, because I listen more in the car than anywhere else.

ElizabethObviously 09/ 3/2009 #

wow big jump in people who joined today! Awesome! I'm trying to find songs not typical..like...ones with names that aren't as common!

fadingwolf 09/ 4/2009 #

Any rules about tracks from the same artist? I was planning on not doing any duplicates. And if i get paired with someone who prefers audio over data I wont, but if I get someone who wants MP3s I think I will just send every name song I have / know of that will fit on the CD. Is that ok?

Kugusch 09/ 4/2009 #

omg, that's funny, I've thought about this sooo often...well, not QUITE like this, but more like one of those radio contests or a game for a party.
"List as many songs with first names in them in xyz minutes" or
"a song with a name starting with S".
BTW...Lou Bega's Mambo #5 ...does that count extra? Should give bonus points for "most names used in one song" LOL. I would soooo love to join this, but I can't pull music off the net (too dumb) and I don't know if I have enough songs on CD's to cover the requirements.
Well, I might run down and check..now is it enough for the name to be in the SONG, or does it have to be in the TITLE?

ElizabethObviously 09/ 4/2009 #

It is songs with names in the TITLE. And tracks by the same artist is fine if you plan on doing the MP3 thing like that! Thats pretty cool actually. But if you are having problems having songs with names in teh titles, then yeah, songs that are mainly about names would be fine. But try to have names in the titles!
