EDITED ON 6/10/07 (number of partners/cards reduced)
Here is the deal. Do you have full size art, say in a sketch book or drawing tablet (drawings, pen work, watercolors, acrylics)? Is there some of those works that just didn’t quite make it, but are too good to just throw away? I’ve found a use for them. Dig it out of your closet or portfolio, cut it up and collage its pieces with itself. What? Yes, really, it works. I have been cutting up art and getting 3 or 4 cool ATCs out of each drawing. Give it a try then come back and join the swap. The idea of this swap is to create ATC's using that art that is just taking up space that you created some time ago, that you like but don’t really value anymore. You can add more drawing once collaged. You can embellish and even add other bits that are not from the drawing. Just have fun rescuing your own art. Please be sure to mount your ATCs on playing cards or heavy cardstock. Use glue that holds. You will have 3 partners and you will make each partner 3 cards. This is a total of 9 cards. They are easy to make because you’ve already done the hard part. I’m going to repeat this swap over and over if it is successful. I am really loving making these cards. NOTE: What I am doing is I scan the drawing before I cut into it, then I size it down to 1.75 or so to fit on the back of the ATC. This way the person who receives your Rescued Art ATC can see what the art originally was. Just an idea. |
