Description:

This is a swap for hand-stamped Muslin. This is a simple technique that can be used in so many crafts!

You'll have 3 partners.

You'll send 5 pieces of muslin or twill ribbon hand stamped with your store bought or hand made rubber stamps.

Each piece of muslin should be no smaller than 2 inches and no larger than 6 inches. Just use your common sense. Don't send something you wouldn't want to get in return.

Each piece should be stamped with a different design. Whimsical designs, swirls, flowers, and words look great!

The muslin can be white or any shade of cream, just make sure it is 100% cotton.

You can stamp with any color ink (Stazon works best since it is permanent).

No need to hem the edges of the fabric, just keep them raw and keep enough unstamped fabric around the edges for your partner to easilty incorporate the stamped images in their projects.

4.9+ Newbie welcome, no recent 1/3/no-send, I reserve right to ban as I see fit.

Versacraft (which used to be called Fabrico) is another ink which works on fabric, but it needs to be heat-set.

By muslin, do you mean plain quilting/patchwork-type fabric? In the UK, we use the name muslin for a different type of fabric, so I want to check before joining, but I do have this swap on my Watch list now.

I'd like to know more, too. For example, would something like these FQs suit?

Oh, no, those are stamped with fabric paint... sorry.

spinjenny: Fabrico/Versacraft is great as well, couldn't remember the names of those so thanks for posting this!

Muslin in the US is usually the plain undyed cotton that dressmakers use to make a mock up of a garment before cutting or sewing the real fabric. It is also used as lining for garments as well, or practicing stitches. Any cream or white 100% cotton fabric will do.
