Imagine coming home from school or work and a large, brightly decorated package is sitting on your doorstep. You bring the package inside, carefully open it, and gently pull out another amazingly decorated box, Its sparkly, fun, and its weight feels like there are probably lots of treasures waiting inside. You gently set the box down and slowly open it. Inside there is so much brightly colored, fun, sparkly goodness you actually gasp and your boyfriend asks you what the problem is! This should be your reaction when you receive your Harajuku Girl Dream Box! Here is what you will be doing for your partner: Get an empty shoe box (a larger one like that adult size sneakers or heels would come in, or any other substantial size box or container that you would like to use for this. I’ve actually seen little single drawers at Wal*mart & target that would probably be so rad to use too) Decorate the CRAP out of the box with inspiring images, stickers, kawaii goodness, little toys, i dont care, just use your imagination! Make it something that you (and your partner more importantly) would be so proud to display in your room! Ok, so even more importantly is what is on the inside of the box! We will be filling our partners boxes with GOBS of kawaii, Harajuku inspired goodies! These are items that your partner will be able to use and just about enjoy every day! The possibilities to what you could potentially send are endless! Just fill the box, and please be sure to gift wrap the items to make it super special. Also, please do not duplicate items on the checklist (for example: 3 random accessories. Please do not send 3 pins or 3 keychains). As far as sending clothing, I would like to recommend making sure that what you pick out has stretch to it. I would like everyone to list what size they normally take so your partner can pick something nice out for you accordingly! If you are a good seamstress and would like to make more then one of your items, feel free to do so! Just make sure everything you are placing in your box is something that you would love to receive! The Checklist for the box (in parenthesis are some ideas, but not by any means guidelines, for you):
If you want to add more, you're more then welcome! Also ~ if you have something that you just totally wont use (like if you don't wear sunglasses) feel free to make a note below so your partners $ can go to something for you that you will really love! Basically, by the time your partner adorns themselves with everything you have placed in this box, they should look like they are ready to walk around the streets of Harajuku for the day! Be aware that this is going to be a rather expensive swap. So if you cannot handle that, please do not join! You should be spending around $50 on your partner for this swap. Because of the expense of this swap, I am not making the post date until the end of NOVEMBER. That way, it is like putting aside about $15 a month for this swap. Also, due to the weight of the package, I am going to make this a US/Canada only swap (if anyone else would like to host an international one, they are more then welcome to copy the idea!!). Everyone in the group is pre-qualified to join in on this :)
image above is of my good friend Amy, aka Shrinkle! lmao, no she doesn't know I'm using this and probably wouldnt be suprised I have pictures of her saved on my computer because she has pictures of my butt saved on hers. hahaha |
