I love the idea of a 12 days of Christmas swap. However, the ones I've seen so far are for purchased or handmade, with an emphasis on purchased. I'd like to go just the opposite. Let's do a 12 Crafty Days of Christmas swap. You will have one partner, and you will send your partner 12 handmade loosely holiday-themed items. Each item needs to be marked for the day you want your partner to open it. They don't have to be completely Christmasy, but should be able to be interpreted in a Christmasy way. (i.e. could include a pair of handmade red earrings...not Christmasy, but fit the theme. Get it?) Keep in mind that these items can be any type of craft, so if you are very picky about the kinds of crafted items you would like to receive, this swap is probably not for you. It is not necessary, but would be nice, if you can look at your partner's profile and try to include one or two things that you think s/he would like based on their profile. For days 1-11, items can be kind of small, as long as they are handmade. For day 12, try to make the item a bit nicer. For instance, it could be a scarf made in their favorite color, a mini altered book done to their preferences, or perhaps a collaged cigar box. Since this is a swap with a large commitment, I must limit it to those with ratings above 4.9, and with no 1's within the past 6 months. People who are new now (in July) should have plenty of time to get swaps under their belt. However, you must have at least 5 craft/package type swaps completed by the swap signup deadline. All participants must have signed in to their profile within the week before the swap signup deadline. If you have any questions, PM me. Let the Christmas crafting begin! ****Edited: Crafts can be handmade by anyone, (i.e. purchased from an ETSY store, etc.) as long as they are handmade and not obviously kitschy mass produced items. I did a poll and the few responses I received indicated that they were fine either way as long as it was specified. So I hope everyone is okay with this. |
