Description:

Here's a swap to give you an excuse to take pictures the "old-fashioned" way....

Each participant will have 2 partners and will send each partner 1 photo. The subject of the photo is sender's choice; anything goes as long as the original photograph was taken with a camera that uses film: a Lomo camera, traditional 35mm, Polaroid, disposable camera, etc.

Photos should be sent in envelopes (rather than as postcards) by snail mail, and please be sure to send a print of a quality that you'd be happy to receive yourself.

I'm leaving a longer time before sign-ups close and then another month to the send deadline because I know that dealing with film can take longer than working with digital images.

And it may be worth adding this final note: When I get film developed these days, I often get the images put on CD and then I choose which ones I want to have printed from there. So there's a digital step in the process. If other people do the same thing, that's okay for this swap. As long as the photo was originally taken on film, it's fair game.

So dust off your camera, buy a new roll of film, & join in!

I have lots from when I was working on film. Can I use them or do I need to go back to film? hugs :-)

Photos don't need to be new; you can use a print you have on hand or have a new print made from an old negative. Whatever you'd like, as long as the photo was taken by you on film at some time....

I just clicked to assign partners, so we can start swapping! I'll check in again about 3 weeks after the send deadline, just to make sure that everyone has received. In the meanwhile, have fun!
