FAST Turnaround Swap #2 - get/improve ratings

welcome everyone, it's great to see you in the swap - and YES, get your cards right away, and have them all ready to mail -

the other FAST swap that is going on right now has a 100% participation rate!! Everyone there is just waiting for the ratings to be given!

So yes, it CAN be done!

emails have gone out to everyone - partners will be assigned SOON - get your cards, and have them ready to send, so that you can just address them and get them in the mail.

Remember, this is a FAST swap, so about a week after the mailing deadline, you can RATE your partners - (another reason to get them sent right away, so you will have almost two weeks for them to arrive before being rated)

There is actually no "time limit" to rate partners, in swap--bot, (you can do it even months later) - but there are LOTS of newbies signed up here who are eagerly waiting for some numbers by their names -

We DO all remember when we were waiting for those first ratings to come in.

a VERY good lesson to learn here, in swap-bot, especially if you have an international swap partner -

if the deadline is a week past, and you have NOT received anything yet, PLEASE contact your partner FIRST, before leaving a bad rating -

international mail takes a little longer (duh) - so you might have to be patient.

That is why you certainly CAN (and maybe should) send your swaps immediately when you have your partners' names - that will give you ONE week until the mailing deadline, and ANOTHER week until the ratings come out.

If you wait until the "mailing deadline" it is only one week until you get rated, and sending them early just may prevent a rating of '1'.

oh wow, we are in the top 10! - sign-up deadline is almost here, it will close in about 3 hours, and I will be checking the list then - partners will be assigned sometime tomorrow (Sunday) -

(the other FAST swap had a 100% quality rate, EVERY swapper sent and received their swaps, and every person who signed up for that swap (just 2 weeks ago) now has a RATING!

So yes, get your cards sent right away - there will be alink in the yellow box that will give you your partner's info, and also on the "Current Swaps" page, will be a link that you can access from there.

It is VERY considerate to post when you send your swaps, so please let us know when you've put them in the mail.

ALSO, please let us know when you receive cards, so the sender does not need to worry.

This will be my first swap, and I'm a little confused. Do I write anything on the blank notecards? Or am I supposed to leave them blank and add a piece of paper in there for a little note I want to write to my partner?

we are sending BLANK - that means brand new, not written on, with NO greetings. It is okay to maybe have one that says "Thinking of you" or something -

it is a very good idea to include a little 'note' from yourself, saying WHO you are, and what your swap name is - and hoping that the person enjoys the cards, etc.

The cards should all be different, with envelopes.

Just a note - on swaps that I host, even after I have sent my items, I will NOT click the "sent" button -

that would move the listing to the bottom of the "Current Swaps" page - and for swaps I host, I prefer to keep them at the top of that page, so they will not risk being "lost in the shuffle"

I DO post to the comments section when I have sent my items, and also when I receive anything.

WOW - I just see that there is a new link in the yellow box - seems we can (partially) rate partners immediately, when they are assigned - and I guess that you can also now rate hosts - that is cool -

For the newbies - please note, that this may or may not be a "typical" swap - it depends on the other swap participants and the person hosting it - and you will learn as you go along - there are wonderful swaps, and yes, there are some that are not so great -

As you think about rating your partners, keep in mind that the highest rating, (a '5') means that your swap "met the swap requirement" - that's it!

It does NOT mean "I received what I wanted" - it does not even mean "I loved what I got" - yes, I hope you like it, and I hope that you receive wonderful items from people who read your profile and tried to send you exactly what you hope for.

THOSE are the kind of swaps that might earn a heart!

Remember, the deadline for mailing these cards is Saturday, the 26th. Please try to get them sent out by then.

it's great to see you posting here that you've sent off your cards, and as they are trickling in, please also remember to let us know that they've arrived safe and sound.

if you have NOT sent your cards yet, Saturday is the deadline, so please try to get them off by then. If you cannot get them sent on time, let your partners know, so that it may avoid a poor rating.

And just a reminder, you will be able to FULLY rate your partners about two weeks after the mailing deadline (the timing has changed, with the new system)

It will be the same link (in the yellow box). I will be sending a reminder email when the time comes.

As I've said, there really is no "time limit" to rate your partners, but there are quite a few newbies in this bunch who are eagerly waiting for some ratings, so let's all be kind and remember to do that.

Remember to RATE your partners, everyone - we are ALMOST at 100% rated in this group -

if you have receive ONE of your sets, but not the other, check that partner's ratings. If they have been rated for this swap, that means the other person has received their cards - and you know that yours are probably on the way -

You CAN still contact the person, asking them if and when it was sent, but at least you will know that they are probably coming via Pony Express....hahaha

Received cards from Garagebandfan and WendyB sometime in the last week and a half. I was out of town and my boyfriend was getting my mail, so I don't know what day it arrived. But they are here safe and I love them. Thank you!

I got some nice cards from both Raven and Pam. Hopefully mine will be received soon. I know one went overseas, but they were sent over a week and a half ago.

Laura: Your package arrived safe and well today. Thanx for the 'little surprise' it made my day! :) I hope to get your name in a future swap so I can repay the thoughtful kindness. Thanx so much.
