Only two ABBA fans ?? Might have to send out an S.O.S soon for more players ;)

Mamma Mia, I adore ABBA! XD However, it might be nice if there were some guidelines on how we are to immortalize them. Can we do intrepretations of the songs? I don't have many pictures of them...(0) What about their spins offs, the musical Mamma Mia and A*Teens? Are they included as well?

You may interpret the theme "ABBA" in any way you wish. You can interpret the songs, the musical, whatever you wish. It can even be abstract, how the music makes you feel! Put on the tunes and get inspired!

Abba-dabba-DO! there are tribute groups out there you know, like Bjorn AGain. ALso Erasure did a short CD called "Abbaesque"-also a tribute. I've been a fan since teen-hood--1970s. Have all the LPs, all the CDs, 3 sets of videos, some memorabilia (not much).

Lin - glad you found the swap! Welcome Abba fans! The Erasure covers are my favs, so campy and funny! I gather Abba wasn't so please with the artistic license!

I so remember when "Abba - The Movie" came to sattalite TV. I grew up in Northern Canada (Labrador) and there was only 2 TV channels - CBC French and CBC English/Inuit! Some crazy guy got this idea to set up a sattalite dish outside of town and he just beamed the signal towards our town. It worked but the sattalite channel kept changing as the earth moved/sattalite orbitted so I remember praying that the channel would stay long enough for me to watch the movie. I saw it 4 times in 2 days. The video parts were cool, as these were really on the frontier of music videos (no MTV or MuchMusic back then) but the acting parts were awful! I just loved it anyway!

I saw in on cable awhile back and my opinion hasn't changed! But I still love their music and saw "Mamma Mia", which was amazing!

Okay, I had to join. I tried to hold out, but coulnd't resist. I always joke I must have been conceived to ABBA, I've loved them since childhood. I remember listening to them on 8-track and LP. I even have the 4-disc "Thank You for the Music" set here at work. Love it, love it. Great book in it of pictures about them and about all the memorabilia (ABBA soap??!!) that was sold. Great swap, can't wait to get started on these over the coming weeks.

I have Thank you for the music too! Discovered some gems on that thing, such as "Happy Hawaii" which I'd never heard before finding it on the cd set

I've been asked about what kinds of themes can be used for this swap. You can explore the lyrics of a particular song and depict the story or mood of the song, you can explore the musical "Mamma Mia", set on a Greek island (one of three men is the bride's father; past loves, etc), or the mini-musical "The Girl with the Golden Hair", Benny and Bjorn went on to write the musical "Chess" with Tim Rice, you can explore Sweden where the group is from. There are many aspects of the theme to explore. Have fun!

It's from what I consider their best album, "The Visitors," a more contemplative and darker album for the most part than their previous works. This doesn't feature all of the lyrics from the song, but I hope to complete the cycle. Would be interested in comments

Well, I got ATC-block for awhile there! And it's my own swap!! No fear, though, have suddenly been inspired by linpengierhody to do cards interpreting songs, 2 songs done, 1 to go (one of each song to each partner). Much prettier than just Abba photos, etc. And this has been a great opportunity for me to really look at the lyrics, especially of the later songs, they are much more serious and complex. I'm having a good experience and hope you all are too!
