Hello Fellow Apron Swappers! I had such a good time with the last apron swap and I was so disappointed when the host of that swap announced that she wouldn't be hosting on swap bot anymore. I contacted her and she has graciously passed the apron strings on to me so that we can continue the great apron swaps! I plan to host a different apron swap every 2 months or so. Each swap will have a theme that is open to interpretation. This month's theme is: Summer Spots and Dots! Make your partner one vintage-style hostess/housewife type apron using "spots and dots" as the theme. Interpret this any way you wish. Your apron might feature polka dots, dalmation puppies, happy faces, dominoes, lady bugs, WHATEVER . . . Just make your apron really pretty, something you would swoon over if you were to find it in your mailbox! And keep in mind that summer is coming and we will want to be wearing our aprons this summer! Aprons must have a minimum of either a bodice OR pockets and a frill (if you make the half-apron style). If you add a bodice to your apron, remember this is a feminine, vintage-style apron swap. Don't send the kind of blocky butcher BBQ aprons that you can get anywhere! These guidelines are not written in stone, but your apron should show that you put some effort into it. You can always ask your partner for their input on what they would prefer, but ultimately the choice is up to you! Whatever type of apron you make MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR ASSIGNED PARTNER'S WAIST MEASUREMENTS AND ADD PLENTY OF INCHES TO MAKE CERTAIN THE STRINGS WILL TIE! Lots of interesting apron patterns can be found on the internet. If you need help finding a pattern, please contact me and I will be happy to lend a hand! It is not a requirement (because I know not everybody can do this) but it would be great if you could email me a picture of the apron you send or receive. After the swap is over I will put together an online photo album and will email everybody the link to it so that we can see our creative juices at work! Next month's theme will be "Lemonade" if you want to start thinking and looking for the perfect fabric! Think lemons, limes, yellow, green, white, whatever . . . Now for the fine print: This is an international swap. I wait until signups are closed before I begin to ban people. You WILL be banned if: you have ANY no sends in the past 6 months or your rating is less than 4.5 (unless you email me with a very good explanation). Newbies with filled out profiles are welcome IF they email me personally to make contact. I also reserve the right to ban anybody I think might flake for whatever reason. Enjoy the Apron-Love, Everybody! |
