Pour Over Psalm 19:7-11

All are welcome even if you never picked up a Bible or Torah before (you can use the internet to find the portion of Scripture). This is an opportunity for you to cross over the border and say you did something new for 2024 :)

I recommend that you use the Oxford Language Dictionary to look up the definitions -- you'll be suprised what common words really mean! And if you go further than the dictionary such as searching what the word or phrase originally meant in Hebrew you will gain even more!

Psalm 19:7-11

1) Read the portion over first. Then define to your partner the meaning of these words via Dictionary:

Testimony, Precepts, Commandment, Judgements, Fear of YHWH (God)

2) Read the Psalm again and tell your partner what 4 senses are affected by God's Law.

3) List at least 10 affirmation words (can be a combination of affirmation, promises, outcomes from the Psalm).

4) Share with your partner anything new that spoke to you, how you now feel about the Law of God, and what you might do differently now that you have better understanding, assuming you will :)

5) Did looking up the definitions to these words change any preconceptions you may have had?
