Description:

This swap was originally hosted by craftygirl back in September 2007. Only 4 people signed up for it that time, including myself, but I thought it was such a good idea, and I so enjoyed the swap that was sent to me by craftygirl that I thought I would host my own version of it and hopefully it will get a few more sign ups this time around, because it really is such a fun idea for a swap.

If you're like me, you spend a fortune in computer paper and ink. More than likely, you've even invested in ink refill kits and boxes of printing paper at Staples . If this sounds anything like you, too, then this swap is just what you are looking for!!

For this swap, you will have one partner as two would be a bit much and could get a little costly and you don't want to have to use more than one color/black cartridge on them (keep in mind, you will be using a lot of ink and paper, so if you don't want to spend $50+ on cartidges and papers just to use them up on this swap, which is very likely, then this swap is probably not for you.) Also, there should be a minimum of at least 50 print-outs, so that everyone receives the same amount of them.

Ideas for things to print for this swap include:

  • Stationery
  • Envelopes
  • Word searches and crossword puzzles
  • Scrapbook papers
  • Pictures of things that your partner is interested in, which you can gather from their profile.
  • Greeting cards
  • Photos you have taken
  • Coloring book pages (for if your partner has children)
  • Interesting news articles or current events that you might want to share...
  • Pretty photos off Flickr or saved from image searches you have done
  • Stickers
  • Magnets
  • Iron on transfers
  • And anything else that could possibly be printed!

The idea is to have an all out printing frenzy and a whole lotta fun in the process.

You can use photo paper, card stock, plain paper, and various other specialty papers.

Since this is a rather easy swap overall, I will allow newbies, but there are a few things you MUST have to be a newbie in this swap. You must have at least 5 swaps completed, and all of them must be mailed swaps. In other words, not 5 e-mail swaps. Also, you must have all five ratings on all 5 of your completed mailed swaps. Hearts are not needed, but threes and ones will disqualify you.

As for the non-newbies who join, please have a rating of 4.9 or higher, no less. And no recent no sends or ones in the past 6 months. Threes are OK, if you have a good reason for being late (which is usually the reason for getting a three).

I hope this swap goes over well. I know it's rather pricely, but hopefully it will be worth it!!! Lastly, I will be keeping this one Regional to the US.

Have fun printing!!

Maybe a minimum number of pages would be a good idea? I'd hate to send 100+ and get like 20 in return!

On my "watchlist" ; )

What a lovely swap - great idea! :)

I don't know if you can make a little wishlist for this swap but there is a few things that I would really love to get :0) Graphic images (all sizes) of angels, fairies, mermaids, mythological of any kind, hearts, stars and moons, and celtic designs. I would like to make some stencils for them. Thanks for looking.

Sorry, I forgot the filigree styled crosses and other religious symbols....:0)

Does anyone think there should be a minimum 50 pages? I was afraid that might be a little too much for a minimum, but instead of 30 print-outs I was originally going to put 50. What do you, the participants, think? winks

SheriFaerie 04/22/2009 #

Wishlists are fine Donna!!(;

SheriFaerie 04/22/2009 #

In fact, I will make a lil' wishlist as well... I loooove scrapbook papers, swap cards (for swap-bot, or my other groups which are The Mix Fix, Enchanted Forest, Celebrity Decos, Sparkling Deco Divas, Dollar Store Divas, Throne Of Blood Decos and Dark Candy Decos...), iron on transfers of my favorite musicians which are Kurt Cobain/Nirvana mainly, but I would also love a tee with Foo Fighters or Hole, and ummmm... I would absolutely love photographs of you, your family, your art, whatever... Anything you take yourself. If you print cards, I love friendship cards mostly, and if you print magnets, but whatever your think I'll like is fine!! And I'm sure I will! winks

I'm still debating signing up or not, but I like 50 pages better then 30. 30 can really be next to nothing when you think about it.

I'm curious though, how much of the stuff is kind of expected to be full color? If I sent a bunch of black and white things (craft patterns, poems, crosswords or other puzzles, etc.) would I be laughed out of the swap?? I'm not saying I wouldn't send ANY color things, I'm sure I would, I just want to know how much is expected to be full color. Kwim??

SheriFaerie 04/23/2009 #

Well, maybe if there were an equal amount of full color and black and white print-outs?

I've changed the minimum amount to 50, so if there were at least 25 black and white print outs, and 25 color, that would be alright.

almahill 04/27/2009 #

Sounds like a swap that I would enjoy. Will be having fun with this one.

I'll probably be moving the swap date up a month. Looks like the # of ppl in the swap is staying at 4 and probably wont change much since it hasn't for a while now, so I thought I'd get the swap started sooner.
