Description: | |
International, 1 partner, lightweight/cost of 1-2 stamps to mail. For this swap, we are going to use some found photos, make up stories, do some writing and make a small journal. Take your time!! but also have fun with this. Nothing too serious, but be creative and use your imagination. You will need at least 3 “found” photos, at least 2x3 inches in size, that you will send to your partner. These can be your photos or those you find in thrift stores, or something similar to the Tim Holtz found photos. The photos do not need to be of people, they can be of buildings, locations, vehicles, headstones – use your imagination! You will be making up stories for the photos. And you will need at least one sheet of paper. A sheet of computer paper will work, any color. And something to use as a binding for the journal – staples, needle and thread, etc. You can do more, go bigger – that’s up to you, and you are sending to your partner, so make sure you can post the finished journal with no problems when you are done. A basic template would be to cut the sheet of paper in half, then fold both halves together to make a little booklet. This will give you a front and back cover and 3 – 2 page spreads on the inside. (You are welcome to add a thicker/sturdier cover if you wish, and you are welcome to decorate as you wish.) At a minimum bind these pages together, write the swap name and your ID on the front cover. Then on each 2 page spread, attach a photo to one side, and use the blank space on the other side to write a short story about the photo. If it’s a photo of a person, maybe you can write a short biography of the person – create a name, location, activity, age, etc… If it’s a location, make up a story about what happened there, etc. Hopefully you get the idea. You don’t have to write a lot, but try to fill up the page. The photos and stories don’t need to be connected, they can be individual and independent of each other. Take your time!! But have fun. You can be silly or serious, but take your time and be creative so your partner will enjoy your creation. Questions? Comments? Please send me a PM! SB doesn’t send alerts about comments left below, so I likely won’t see them. But I do check my PM’s regularly. Interested in a US only version? Please let me know! I’ll set it up! |
