Description:

This swap is for those of us who just can't get enough yarn! This month's color is PINK.

It's very important that this be a good experience for everyone involved!! If you are new to Swap-Bot please contact me. If you have a rating below 4.75 I'm sorry, but this swap is not for you.

This will be a monthly swap. Each month a color of yarn will be assigned and you will send that specific color of yarn to your assigned partner. By the end of 12 months you will have a whole year's worth of colors! You must sign up each month to participate.

Requirements: $20.00 YARN minimum please. NO cheap acrylics! Natural fibers or natural blends only please. Any shade of this month's color is fine as is a blend with this month's color as the main color. GET CREATIVE!!! Send a unique yarn or blend that you think your partner might enjoy!!

You're more than welcome to send along a favorite pattern or some other little "goody" if you'd like but it is not required and should not be expected. Again, please make sure the yarn is at least worth $20.00. Handspun/dyed yarns are great, but please make sure you send at least what you would consider $20.00 worth and include a label with the yarn describing the content and care. Absolutely no used or partial skeins of yarn please!

This is an international swap.

I will be away during this swap, but my hubby will mail off my parnters goodies! If my partner is curious as to my likes/dislikes, I like soft pinks & hot pinks, I love cotton fleece, cascade sierra, cascade tencel, lorna's laces ... cotton/wool blends as they can be worn all year. I like cotton ease, TLC cotton plus ... lol.

Dear swap-partner, I will just let you know that my favorit pink is soft pink and I would love to receive lace-yarn. Here in Denmark we usually have to import lace-yarn from the US. ;o) I am looking foreward to this swap too. :o)

I LOVE ALL shades of pink and weights (except lace). =]

p3knitter 06/25/2007 #

When it comes to pink, I happen to love all shades. But please, no socks yarn - I have TOOOOO much sock yarn right now! LOL

user7363 06/25/2007 #

I am excited about this swap! I love wool, silk, and I would prefer not to receive cotton or mohair or synthetics, please. I don't like novelty yarn.

sock yarn would be great! as I have been going through a sock knitting phase, but it doesn't have to be sock yarn. :)

As for color, I like all pinks!

I'm not a huge fan of pink, but there's a place for everything -- right? I'd love something interesting -- and that could include multi-colored yarns with pink as one of the colors (although solid pink is fine too). I like natural fibers. No novelty yarns, nothing lighter than DK (I'm not into socks or lace weight). Thanks!

Sock yarn will be fine here too, all shades + cotton for cloths.

What is novelty yarn?

Winemakersister, you mention DK, what is it?

winemakerssister 07/ 1/2007 #

Hi articgirl64,

I think of novelty yarns as things like eyelash yarn -- usually acrylic, always gimmicky. It's hard to generalize, because I actually love some yarns that are considered "novelty" yarns -- like wool boucle, good self-striping yarns, or some really cool handspun thick-n-thin yarn with bits of other colors and fibers spun into it. I generalized, but it's actually the cheap, nasty novelty yarns I don't like.

DK (stands for double knitting) is a specific weight -- similar to Sport weight. It's usually about 5.5 to 6 stitches per inch and, generally (again), is pretty much the lightest I like working with.

I love sock yarn!!!

Hi, I loved the green yarn swap, can't wait to get this package and choose for my partner! In case you are choosing for me, I love baby pinks, soft pinks, and some hot pinks nothing salmony though or too garish! I have just started knitting socks, but I also crochet, so anything will come in handy! I don't really like novelty stuff (like bobbly, boucle or fluffy stuff) or eyelash yarn!

Neenbug 07/ 2/2007 #

anything is fine with me! I am not real fond of eyelash, etc. Also no cheap acrylic but any weight is ok since I have learned how to knit socks and scarves.
