This is an INTERNATIONAL pen pal swap. This is a simple pen pal swap, too. You will have 2 partners. The length of letters will be between you and your partners. The only requirement is that your letter be an actual letter. No "form" letters. Handwritten or typed are fine, your choice. Adding extras is not a requirement and it is up to you if you like adding surprises to your letter.
