Description:

I've been noticing a lot of wonderful Bible swaps lately and I wanted to host one of my own. @LindaW and @SunflowerRose are both hosting a series of wonderful Bible swaps that I suggest you join, but I wanted to try one a bit different.

My goal for this year (and into the next probably) is to read my way through the Bible from Genesis to Revelations. I want to create a journal to save my journey through all the books. So to help on my adventure I thought it would be fun to host a series of Bible Activity swaps.

For these swaps you will read the Bible passage indicated in the swap and then after you read the passage you will create a Bible activity for your partner. It can be anything you wish to create but here are a few options:

  • Cryptogram of one or more verses in the passage.

  • Word Search with some key words from passage

  • Crossword Puzzle

  • Fill in the blank, Where you write the passage out and leave key words out that your partner has to fill in.

  • If you are good at drawing, you could even make or find a coloring page that relates to the passage.

  • A genealogy chart that your partner can fill in as they read the passage. ( Thinking of Genesis here..hahahaha)

Any of those options are wonderful or you can think of something on your own. We just want to give our partners a Bible Activity that allows them to further study the passage that is assigned for that swap.

Now onto the requirements:

  1. One Partner

  2. One activity created by YOU related to the assigned passage.

  3. Please use notebook sized paper ( 8.5 x 11 ) and make sure it is three hole punched so your partner can save it and add it to a binder if they wish.

  4. Please only use front side of paper.

  5. Let's decorate the page a bit. Nothing fancy required, but stickers or colored ink can dress up a plain sheet of paper.

  6. Make sure to give directions on how to do the activity.

  7. Enclose answers to the activity (in case your partner struggles)

  8. Let your partner know which Bible version you are using so that they can refer to that version when doing the activity. It may make it easier since wording can be different from version to version.

  9. On the back of the activity page, write swap ID, Bible passage (ex John 3: 1 - 20), the swap name and the date.

I think that is all. If you have any questions, send me a PM because I don't usually come in and read the comments.

Bible Passages: This week we will read the following chapters and create one bible activity of your choice. You can create one activity per chapter if you want to, but only one is required for this swap.

Genesis Chapter 10 - Table of Nations

Genesis Chapter 11 - Tower of Babel

These may seem like fast turn arounds on swap dates but hopefully if you sign up in advance and start working on your activity before partners are assigned then we shouldn't have problems with mail out times. Please remember that even though the sign-up date says one date, hosts cannot assign partners until the following day and then we have up to 2 days to assign partners.

Please be patient and don't PM me asking me to assign partners. I promise I will do it within the 2 days. Real life trumps Swap-bot so I can't always log in everyday. I hope you understand.

Thank you so much for joining this swap and helping me to be accountable and achieve my goal of reading through the Bible.
