Description:

Welcome to the first 2022 Monthly Mailer swap!

Updated to March as the send month.

I've been hosting variations of this swap for years in different groups and sites. This will be the first for the G.I.F.T. group. In the original version of the Monday Mailer participants sent something to a partner every Monday. During the COVID-19 pandemic, to avoid multiple trips to the post office, it was changed to a Monthly Mailer with a month's worth of packets being sent all at one time in a larger mailer.

Given that the pandemic and its variants still rage, this first in an every other month swap series will continue Covid-style and if group members want to continue we'll see what omicron does. If we have the interest, the months to send in will be March, May, July, September, November.

Thank you for considering this MONTHLY Mailer swap where you send your partner an envelope/package of happiness with a note, a reading and a surprise for each week.

For each week of March 2022, create a packet or envelope labeled with the week. Tuck all five packets in a larger box or mailer and send so your partner will have a full month in one package. Be sure to include your name, forum name and the swap name.

Each packet should include:

  • a note, card or letter.

  • something to read.

  • a surprise.

Your note could be about anything you'd like, or could follow the week's theme. Something to read could include a devotional, book, article, jokes, recipes, etc. The gift should be faith-based, profile-based or theme-based. Give as you'd like to be given unto.

Themes are suggested to focus on or guide you as you prepare your packets. Interpretations of the weekly themes are up to the sender.

The overall theme for March is: GRACE.

Scripture themes are: Hebrews 4:16 and 2 Timothy 1:6-9.

March 1-5: Introduce yourself.

March 6-12: What grace means to me.

March 13-19: Grow in grace.

March 20-26: Sufficient grace.

March 27-31: Sender's choice.

You don't have to wait for partners to be assigned to start your notes.

Please pray for your partner and the other members of the swap.

NOTE new swap dates.

I don’t understand. We sign up by 02/16 for the month of March. But we send by March 1? I thought we had a packet to create for each week of March and send all weekly packages on the last day of March, the 31st. I do want to join but want to make sure of what I need to do. Thank you. Alma

Hi @AJ73 There was a request for more lead time on this swap, hence the time between the date the swap was posted and the day it is to be sent.

The idea is to prepare for your partner ONE box that has five separate and labeled packets/packages inside. You would open one packet each week of the month of March. (The smaller ones would be labeled Week 1, Week 2, etc.)

With the lead time, sending by March 1 (preferably earlier) puts the overall package in your partner's hand for the month.

HTH.
