Description:

If you are like me and you like to keep some of your creations BUT you like the encouragement of a partner then ........... This is the swap for you!

When you sign up for this swap you are committing to create a page that is at least 5x7 inches in size (a loose page or in a book, your choice) and you will follow the assigned theme.

YOU ARE NOT ACTUALLY MAILING ANYTHING TO YOUR PARTNER

Round 11

Theme: What I Ate

(Interpret as you wish..... photos of your meals, shopping lists, recipes, cutouts from the grocery ads.... or just a food diary) Partners will be assigned. By the "Mail by" date you must email your 3 partners a photo of your page (or a link to where they may see your page.... Instagram, a website or some other place.... if you choose Instagram or another site that requires an app or account creation... please consider posting elsewhere or sending an email)

Because you have to create the page (even though you don't mail them) this is a Type 3 swap.

Every couple weeks there will be a new theme.

Rate a 5 for a finished page and although not required please tell your partner what you liked about it. Please reach out to your partner if you can't find an email from them before you rate them down. Often times things go to junk mail.

Shouldn't this be a Type 1 swap since it's email only?

USAFwife 01/ 9/2022 #

Yeah, I thought that should be a type 1 since you aren't actually mailing anything, just sending it electronically.

But you are creating. Should be both

USAFwife 01/13/2022 #

You are creating, but you are only emailing. If you read the description of the types, it should be a type 1 for being electronic.

Type 3 - Crafts and Packages - Any time-intensive craft swaps or swaps that must be mailed in a package. Most swaps will fall under this type. Anything sent in a box, bubble mailer, or large envelope is a Type 3 *These are time intensive craft swaps. I spend hours creating my journal pages, then photograph them and email.

As I understand it - Type 1 swaps are "all electronic" only. This falls under Type 3, because you are making a physical craft - creating an actual page in a journal with paper, paint, ephemera, etc...

The issue, IMO, is that I could download an image of someone else's hard work and email it to the four partners in this swap and there is no way for my partners to know I put zero effort into "my" creation.

As this swap stands, there are no checks and balance on what is supposed to be a creative endeavor. People will be getting credit for hard work they might not have done.

Hmmm... Well we are creating a page according to the theme (different each time). I would be OK with adding a video of me flipping through my junk journal to show all of the pages I have created to "prove" that it was all my work in my journal, and not "stolen" from someone else. I do have all of my pages posted on my blog and do include a link to that as well. I'm not exactly sure why this is an issue ... can't we just have faith in each other? Most people are honest, and what would be the benefit of trying to cheat on artwork? I'm glad we do have open discussion, though.
