Pickle jar lid Christmas ornament

This is an easy craft ornament.

1.Get a jar lid from a salsa jar or jar that has one of those pop type lids ( all metal and makes a pop when opened the first time.). Clean it out very well.

2 Trace around the lid on a piece of paper and two pieces of cardboard. You might need to trim them just a smidgen but not too much, they need to fit tight with out buckling.

1. On the paper, paint or draw a Christmas scene. No sticker slapping. Tasteful collage is ok just make sure that everything is glued down so things don't get snagged and come off. It can not come off the edge of paper. THERE IS AN ARTISTIC ELEMENT TO THIS SWAP. remember, these can become heirlooms so do your best job.

(Edit: I just purchased some heavy weight sheet protectors and cut a circle out to size and placed it on top of the stack. I felt like I needed my painting to have some protection. Playing around with some other ideas to solve this part.)

1. Stack the paper on top of the two cardboard circles and press them into the top of the jar lid at the same time. This is a one time push. The pressure of the cardboard will keep it from coming out. I sometimes layer it with a piece of clear plastic on top before I pop it into the lid.

2. Hot glue a ribbon around outer edge of lid and put a loop of ribbon 🎀 for hanging.

3. Use a tag sticker on back to put your name and yr on the back so your partner will have it forever!

4. Write in the comments below, what your Christmas theme is or the colors of your tree. This will help your partner make something that you will be delighted to hang on your Tree!

As with all my swaps, you must have a 4.9 rating or higher. No 1's or 3's in the past yr. You will also have to have been active on swap-bot.com for the past six months. This time of year brings out the Christmas flakes. I will check all participants and if you look like a flake, I will probably drop you from the swap.
