What are you making in 2021? Practicing any new crafts? Trying to get better at one you've been trying for awhile? Let's swap supplies! We did this in January and I absolutely loved everything I got. I hope everyone else in the swap did, too. I give a while to make your package and mail it out because some are still snowed in up north. <3 There are plenty of things we might look at but never buy for ourselves. There are also lots of things we might never have considered using on our own, but if given to us, suddenly we might discover a New Thing We Like. Meanwhile, you might have had to buy 50 charms when you needed 10 for a project. Or you really really tried to knit and... it is Not Happening. Great, now you have six balls of yarn. Depressed? Stressed? As Neil Gaiman said, "Make good art!" All art is 'good art.' So let's get trading! You have two partners each. Flat typical envelopes will likely get caught in machinery at USPS for most packages so please package items carefully, so nothing gets broken or torn up in the mail. Recycled packaging from non-food sources is encouraged as long as it is secure and has the right postage. A small package in the US may cost around $4 to mail. A flat-rate Priority Mail envelope can be stuffed full for about $8. Send five (5) different items to your partner! But please be fair and send what you would like to receive. For example, please do not send five individual seed beads or six inches of yarn as an item. However, several larger beads filling a 5cm square packet or a 15cm strand is certainly an item; 3-5 metres of yarn is certainly an item. Fabric should be 20cm x 20cm minimum. Multiple stickers or sticker sheets, mixed media items which are clean, journal art items, etc. also count for this type of package. Please consult your partner's profile on what crafts they prefer. This will guide you on ideas of what to send. It is ultimately sender's choice but it is ideal to consult a profile first for anything a recipient might find offensive or useless, or before sending anything a recipient might be allergic to. For example, please do not send wool yarn to someone who says they have a wool allergy (even if the yarn says it's "only 5% wool" or something.) Or if they have arthritis, it might be a good idea to message them before sending a bunch of small beads to work with. However, do NOT rate someone badly if you get items you don't like or can't use. Only rate badly if you get broken or dirty items; please message me and the sender first if this happens to see if the problem can be resolved. Hearts are at your discretion! If you like something a lot or feel like something was extra special or really paid attention to your profile, maybe it deserves a heart. You can give hearts to anyone for any reason. Please do not send anything that smells strongly, especially items that smell like cigarettes. It bothers many people with asthma and allergies. Last day to mail is all the way out in Mar. 7th! That gives us time to get past Valentine's Day AND (probably maybe?) snow in the Northern states! <3 Let me know if you have questions/concerns. I DO recommend tracking and/or insurance since the mail is kind of weird sometimes and we can expect a strange winter with lots of snow problems in parts of the US. If your item does not come within two weeks of mailing date, please reach out to the sender and to me! |
