Description:

I have never made a Whimsey Jar...but they look so fun!! So this swap is for people who have never made a Whimsey Jar but would love to try!!

I've done a little research and and it seems it can be any size jar.....

So I figured something like a Salsa Jar would be a good size!! 16 oz. Jar . Make sure the jar is extremely clean!! And decorate the top and the jar itself.

Theme will be Spring!! Easter is on it's way etc. So think spring, pastels, warmer weather etc.

I think a price limit of $15.00 would be good....if you think different let me know.

Rating of 4.8 or higher only please!!

No Newbies this time...sorry.

No recent 1s

And most importantly....Have Fun!!!

Are the jars glass or plastic?

BanaeDepp 02/15/2009 #

The Jars are Glass and the outside doesn't have to be completely covered...Just make it look nice. :)

I wouldn't use a salsa jar, even though it's very clean it will still hold the oders. I found little empty spice jars at Jo-Ann fabrics that would be wonderful for a first time whimsey jar...you can also use a baby food jar...if you don't want nasty oders, get the baby jars with fruit in them. I haven't made a whimsey jar, but I have stored my craft items in old salsa jars and such, and after a while my craft supplies started to stink like the food that came in them. Plus, it costs less to send a smaller jar.

bleach or even vinegar eliminates the odors :)

i've made a few whimsey jars. they sell glass medium Ball Jars at Michael's for $1.29 and larger ones for a little bit more.

ThePinkPosy 03/ 1/2009 #

Does the jar have to be glass..............wal mart sells some darling themed and decorated plastic jars...........with matching lids, would these work?

BanaeDepp 03/ 1/2009 #

Just any 16oz jar....plastic seems fine!
