Hey book lovers! What books are waiting in your pile of books to be read (virtual or literal). Me, I have so many on my bedside table and by my chair in the living room, and waiting in line on my Kindle that I hardly know where to begin. I have a giant shelf on Shelfari dedicated to those books, too. I think I need several more lifetimes to get these all finished, but I still wonder what else is out there that I’m missing? I’m curious to know what’s on YOUR list to read next year? Here’s what to do: Choose at least 5 books you’ve been wanting to read, but for one reason or another, just haven’t gotten around to yet. List the title and author and give us a bit about why you want to read this book. Please make it specific enough so that we can decide if it needs to be added to OUR list, too! You can say “I love this author,” but then tell us why in case we’re not familiar with their works. Got it? You can list as many as you like, but please talk about at least 5. If you have a reading goal for 2021--kinds of books to read or number, tell us about that too. Add in whatever else you want to share about your reading life. Do you like listening to books? Are you strictly a hold-it-in-my-hands person? Where do you get your books? If you have any hot tips, I'd love to hear that too! You can start your list now since it isn't dependent on who your partner is. I'm making the deadline weeks away because I know this is a busy time of year. This will be snail mail because my inbox is already jammed, and it’s more fun to get real mail, don’t you think? If you want to host one for email, please feel free to do so! Extras are nice, but not necessary for a 5. If sending extra goodies, please read your partner’s profile to see what they like and if you send any, respect their wishes. There’s nothing more disappointing—to me—than to get a swap that is jammed full of stuff I don’t need, and may actively dislike. (stickers—shudder). Disappointing because I know the sender is trying to please, but, well, you get the point! Final point---envies don’t need to be taped so completely that there is no way in! If you feel yours is so fragile, you must tape it, either use Washi tape or leave an opening for us to slide in a letter opener. I’ve had to cut open too many with scissors, fearing I’d ruin the swap inside because there was no other way in! Thanks! Can’t wait to see what is on YOUR list! |
