Description:

For my first attempt at being a Swap Hostess, I thought I would start with a bright, fun little idea for something different.....

The swap is for a Tiny Turquoise Whimsy Jar...babyfood jars are perfect (both the small and large), but if you get stuck for a jar, something between 3.5”-5.5” will be sufficient.

Fill your tiny whimsy jar to the top with all manner of things turquoise-coloured and don't forget to decorate the lid. Tiny things could include: brads, beads, paperclips, ribbon, charms, candies, buttons, coins, stamps, stickers, seashells, embellishments, craft supplies, anything, really. If it's something that a) fits in the jar, b) you'd appreciate having, c) you'd appreciate giving and d) might make someone smile, then stuff it in!!

The beauty of whimsy jars is that the contents are totally up to you, but I would encourage you to take the time to have a read through your partners profile and incorporate their wants/likes/needs into your whimsy jar...everyone loves receiving things that they not only want, but can put to good use.

Ok, for all the Official Stuff.

The last day to signup is 01 March '09 and your Tiny Turquoise Whimsy Jar must be posted to your swap partner by 28 March '09. I've given a month for this swap due to the specialty colour and to ensure that we all have adequate time to fill and decorate the jars to the best of our crafty capabilities! :) (And also because I have a teething baby at the moment...takes me twice as long to get anything done...)

The swap is open to all swappers with at least a 4.9 rating and NO no-sends, ever (if you have a valid reason and want to participate in the swap, feel free to drop me an email to explain). All swappers must have a completely-completed profile – if you haven't updated yours in some time, now is the time to list all of those wants/likes/needs in case a Crafty Fairy Godmother is watching over you...No Newbies this time around, sorry guys!

If you don't meet these criteria, you will be removed from the swap. Additionally, I am unable to angel this swap, but I don't think there should be a need :)

As this is an international swap, please make sure that your parcel complies with all custom regulations and is packaged securely for posting. You will be assigned one partner only.

Most importantly, have fun creating your little jar of treasures and aim for those 5/hearts!

This sounds like fun:) About decorating the top of the jar. I am wondering if a crocheted jar topper would be approriate? I love to crochet and have lots of patterns for jar toppers. I have seen these used to decorate "Gifts in a jar". Would something like this be ok? I haven't ever made a whimsey jar before, but sounds like fun:) Got this one in my watch. Bea

I think that sounds like a craft-tastic idea! :) If you can, take a photo and upload it before you send it...I'd love to see the outcome!

Who do you consider a "newbie"? Some people say I am, and some say I'm not. Just let me know if you would like me in your swap or not--I won't be offended either way. Thanks!
