Date items must be sent by:February 9, 2009

Description:

In this swap you'll turn your day into a sweet game for your 2 partners.

Choose a particular day and come up with a list of about 15 words which relate to your experiences, emotions, and/or activities on that day. Then create a (typed) word search in which you've embedded those words. Include a brief description/explanation for each word on your list so that your partners get a window-via-words into your daily life.

Please use English or--if you want to use another language for the word search itself (which could be really fun)--please make sure that your description/explanation for each word is in English.

Also, please send your word search to your partners through the post. (I forgot to add this detail in my initial description, but this isn't an email swap.)

Other details: 1) Unrated swappers are welcome. 2) Swappers with a rating below 4.95 or a problematic swapping history will be dropped before partners are assigned. 3) This is an international swap.

Can we use online tools to make one, or does it have to be completely done ourselves?

Online tool

beckra 01/ 6/2009 #

Thanks for mentioning that, telizas! Using an online tool is perfectly fine....

I actually totally LOVE the idea for this swap. My only questions is will this be an e-swap or are we printing and mailing the swaps to partners? We could get copies to a lot of different partners if we do it the e-way, but it might be more fun to be able to send it off in the mail. It's on my watch-list!

This is the most creative swap idea I've come across in a while. Can anyone point out a good internet tool to make the word search?

Thanks for the kind words, CarCrashHearts!

telizas gives a link in the comment above, and here are two more, one at armoredpenguin and another at puzzle-maker

Good question, kskillio! I'm sorry I didn't specify in the original description that this is a postal (not email) swap. I edited the swap to add that info now.

And, in general, if anyone wants to run an electronic version, that's fine by me--I'd only ask that you wait until this round is over (so that the two swaps aren't in competition with each other) and that you provide a link to this swap in the new swap description.

Thanks, slamophile....

And, janeengland, I'll assign partners right after I eat breakfast tomorrow morning, so you won't need to wait long!
