Description:

As I said in a group message, I'm moving over the summer. (yay?) So rather than a monthly journal, I thought I'd open it up to a full season. And, as this is an International group and an International swap, rather than say "Summer", it's "Seasonal". :)

For this swap, you will have 1 partner, and the swap is International. I know that journal swaps can get very costly with International postage, but I want to include all group members in this swap. Since I"m moving, I can't promise to being able to do a USA only version as well, but maybe we can do this again later and do a USA only version, if there's an interest, OK?

This is another "anything goes" swap. You can use any type of journal you wish, you can hand make one or buy one pre made. You can decorate or leave it plain. This is YOUR journal to share with your partner. You can write, do art, collage, Listography, "Wreck It" style, book recommendations, movie recommendations, recipes, create a word search for your partner, tell them what you're doing, write a short story for your partner ... - any and all or even more! :) You can include photos or tourist info, tickets from events you attend. Write out lyrics to some songs you listened to a bunch over the months.

The only requirements are:

The journal MUST be at least 4x6 in size (about the size of a standard postcard), it should be bound (NO SPIRALS!), and all pages need to be secured to the cover. Make sure nothing falls out!

Your journal needs to have a minimum of 60 pages. EDIT: If you don't have enough pages in your journal to complete the swap you can use/send 2 journals

All entries - even art work - should include a date.

Your entry should be at least one page in length (just one side).

Each entry should be "of substance" - meaning more than the date, the weather and a sticker (I've been in journal swaps that were like that and it was disappointing to receive!) You can use stickers and washi and all manner of items to create the entry, but keep your partner in mind when creating it.

You will need a total of 60 entries for this journal. You can always do more, but you need a minimum of 60 entries.

You can start on this at any time. You don't have to wait for partners to be assigned. Partners will be assigned in mid-June, but you can start on the journal early.

Summer in the Northern Hemisphere starts June 21st and goes to September 23rd. This is the time frame for the journal. But you can start before and finish up after, as long as you can send on time.

60 entries over 3 months means you can do just 20 entries per month.

And - before you mail off your journal, I encourage you to take pictures of - or scans - of the pages in case the postal gods frown on our hobby and your journal gets lost. Recreating (or angeling!) this swap would be tough, and I hope no one is in the position to have to do that.

As always if you have any questions, please send me a PM! And if you are watching before you join, please leave a comment below.

Thank you! I hope this is fun for everyone. :)

I will add some possible prompts in the comments section when I find some new ideas, in case you're not sure what to add. If you find any interesting ideas and would like to share, please feel free to do so! :)
