So, I found this great matchbox art project on pinterest and thought it would be fun to make with a steampunk halloween theme. Type in Halloween Matchbox drawers to see what I'm talking about. For this swap, you will take 5 small (32 count) matchboxes and stack them together. Wrap the stack (sides, top, bottom, back in paper, wood, fabric- make sure the outside material you use is sturdy. decorate the fronts of the matchbox "drawers" as well as the inside. Add draw pulls, legs and something fun and interesting on top of the "dresser". The finished piece should be distressed, aged, worn but not sloppy or junky. Make sure it is sturdy. For this project, you must use real matchboxes, do not make your own. Each drawer will then be filled with removable, small items that are halloween themed - think tiny skulls, stickers, cutouts, charms, etc. Please do your very best work - I have given everyone tons of time to complete this project. Please also do not use scrapbook papers unless they are steampunk themed or aged, or distressed already in some way. Overall design and items for the drawers are sender's choice but please do look at your partners profile for dislikes. Please ask away with any questions you might have. I am sure there are youtube videos available to help you get started on making these. |
