Zentangle Inspired Art Swap Series Homepage
One of my all-time favourite themes to swap, because it is SO versatile -- Tinting tiles with a splash of colour, spots, or a full wash, creates a unique, one-of-a-kind tangling surface! Try to do it differently from before if this is your second or third round of this themed swap ;)
Please check that you have read ALL the details as the requirements for each swap in the series may vary. Email me if you encounter any problems: hesedetang[at]gmail.com
This is a sender's choice swap, but please avoid religious/controversial themes. This is a type 3, International swap with a minimum rating of 4.99 and above. For interested swappers with less than 4.99, do leave me a private message for consideration.
I will angel if necessary.
The Details:
One partner, one ATC
Your string should be drawn free-hand, either with pencil or with your choice of tints.
About tints: You may use any medium you like, for example, acrylic paint, watercolour, poster colours, pastels, goache, wet or dry watercolour pencil or even upcycled nail polish. Try to do a 'test' piece before you create your 'actual' swap piece, as some of these tints may cause your regular tangling pen to malfunction (scroll down for more).
About brushes and technique: You can use different brushes and techniques so the sky is the limit. Check out this cool article that teaches how to morph upcycled everyday items into art tools!
About inks: If your go-to tangling pen is pigment based, you will find that oil-free paints and tints work best, with the best results. Alternatively, give your pigment pen a good vacation, and use a gel ink pen instead! These come in fun textures such as opaque, glitter and metallic, or stick to minimalist white/black :)
When using tangles in your work, please choose from KNOWN or PUBLISHED TANGLE PATTERNS. [ I hate to have to be so exacting in my requirements, but of late, I have received some very sloppy work in this swap series. If you have any questions about what Zentangle is, PLEASE ASK BEFORE YOU SEND. ]
Fill up at least half of the ATC. More is always fine.
You may choose to buy or create your own ATC from your favourite art paper, bristol board, strathmore cold press, etc., just ensure your ZIA ATC is thick enough.
You may choose to include a sleeve for the ZIA ATC, but it is not a requirement.
Include a note containing: A. your SB moniker, B. swap name, C. a few lines to share with your partner, and D. quick list of tangles used in your ZIA ATC.
Send your ZIA ATC and note in an envie.
Rate your partner when you receive a ZIA ATC with a note that includes A. B. C. & D.
