Description:

You are to make 12 Handmade Envelopes - a different one for each month of 2009 ~ for one (1) partner.

Be the ENVY of everyone else - even at the post office! Make bill paying fun

This is an international swap.

What you will need:

Magazines with fun pictures, calendar pages, discarded wrapping paper, newspaper funnies, wallpaper, tracing paper, etc. Get creative!

Glue or tape ~ Scissors ~ Stickers (optional) ~

To make your own envelope:

Take an envelope that you like, carefully rip it apart at the seams (or Google for “envelope template” for some that you can print out)

Use the old envelope as a template on some fresh paper optional: Trace around the template

Cut out the envelope shape following the template or tracing

Fold up the new envelope

Glue the side and bottom flaps together

Decorate as desired

OR

Find a fun picture that you like in the magazine or calendar, etc. Tear the whole page out.

Cut a few inches off the top or bottom to make a perfectly square page. The calendar page should already be in a square.

Place the picture that you like face down on a table. Turn the paper so that a corner is facing you (like the shape of a diamond).

Fold the bottom corner up to just under the middle of the page.

Fold the side flaps in so that the tips touch each other right in the middle.

Use glue or tape to hold in place. Be careful not to get glue on the inside of your envelope!

Mailing a PERSONALIZED letter or bill in your ENVY-Lope:

Put your letter inside, fold top flap down and seal with tape or a sticker. Flip over to other side. You are ready to mail your letter, bill or card!

Letter writing could make a come-back - lol!!!!!!!!!

**Check out our fool-proof tips: 1) Use a self-adhesive stamp 2) Write addresses on mailing labels 3) Seal with clear tape 4) Use a heavier/thicker paper

RULES (even though I hate them) Rating of 4.5 or better, with NO no sends in the past six months. Go ahead and message me if you’ve been rated unfairly at any point or have a good reason for your lower rating or the no sends, and we’ll talk. I’m certainly open to listening - as I understand LIFE HAPPENS!

Newbies allowed, but with filled out profiles please by the time you are signing up.

Communication is key. If you’re going to be late with the swap, let your partner know. If your partner tells you he/she is going to be late, and keeps up the communication, give him/her a break. Sometimes things come up that just can’t be helped. Life happens!

I reserve the right to ban anyone that I think might be a problem. This means people that I've noticed have a history of rating unfairly, nastiness, etc. I believe in playing nice & fairly.

ENJOY, Have FUN - after-all, this is a HOBBY . . hobbies are supposed to bring you joy & happiness!!!!!!!!

Any size envelope is ok? Maybe not the tiny or ATC size ones, but 4x4 and larger?? Square, rectangle, other shapes ok?

dreammer 11/26/2008 #

I know in the US if you have square envelopes they are not machineable and you have to pay an extra .20 cents to mail letters in square ones. So please try to make them into rectangles if you get me as a partner please.

Yes, all sizes are acceptable and I would think, be welcomed. You don't have to use all of these envelopes to mail via the USPS . . use them creatively . .leave a note for a friend/co-worker on their desk . . . an "I Love You,' in your son/daughter's suitcase as they leave for college, etc, etc., etc. The possibilities are endless - lol.

You can also "house' special treasures in them too!
