There is another Tiny Paper Squares swap going on, but it's US Only, and I just know there are some cool papers out in the wide, wide world, so I'm going Global! The Swap: You will have one partner--easier on the postage than two or more. Look through your paper scraps from projects and other sources, like newspapers in your native language, magazines, sales flyers and advertisements from stores, wallpaper samples, handmade paper--anything really interesting and cut them into 1" -3" pieces and send your partner a standard mailing letter envelope as full as you can get it without going over the thickness requirements for 1st class letter or airmail letter if international. Hint: if you lay them in rows into a piece of tissue paper and fold it up flat, they are less likely to bunch up and get thick at one end, causing the postage to go up! Colors, textures and patterns are key, don't look at what it says, but what the small piece will be. These small pieces are very useful for collages, ATCs and Alteredbooks. There will be two weeks between sign up deadline and mailing date, so start cutting as soon as you sign up, it takes a long time for international airmail sometimes. Also, Please e-mail your partner when you have mailed, so he/she will have an idea when to watch the mailbox for it. We have a fast turn-around time, because you can start cutting now! and have all the time till the sign-up closes and the mailing date comes up. I just spent 20 minutes going through my scrap paper box and cut enough for four such swaps! If you have a rating of less than 4, please e-mail me before you sign up and explain why you should be allowed to swap. Newbies are welcome because it's a fairly easy project, and a good way to build your ratings by mailing your envelope on time. Please be thoughtful and fulfill your swap, it's so unpleasant to work hard to get something mailed out and not get anything in return! |
