Description: | |
Do you like birds? Do you live in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, the United Kingdom, the USA or Canada? Each year, our countries organise a giant bird count. It's beginner friendly: all you need is an hour of your time during the specific dates for your country. You don't even need to leave the house! Don't worry if you're not a hardcore bird nerd like me. We're not interested in rare species here: we're interested in the common birds that hop around on your street or balcony. Their fluctuating numbers are a measure of the environmental health of our regions, which is why good statistics are so important. And we can all contribute to collecting those statistics. Please look at the sites below to find the exact dates and rules of play for your country. Swap rules: Make your bird count and submit your numbers online to your country's website. Then e-mail them to your swap partners, so we can enjoy one another's bird experiences. Please add the link to your country in the comments. I invite all participation warmly!
