According to Cambridge dictionary online, "your two cents" means - your spoken opinion on a particular matter.

And that's precisely what this swap is for.

How it works : your partner helps you gain perspective of any issue / problem / life situation you are going through. It just helps gain a completely different angle to whatever someone wants an opinion on. You could share absolutely anything that you are comfortable sharing (as long as it is not offensive in nature) and ask for a say or opinion or judgement or answer from your partner. How much and what you want to share is totally your choice. You could speak in a third person or first person - whatever and however you want to ask whats on your mind

The best part is that you have nothing to lose. You get a fair and square advise from someone whom you wont fear being judged by. You will gain a way of thinking perhaps that would positively change and enhance your way of thinking, who knows !

So both the sending and the receiving partner gets to ask and answer. Its a 2 way street. You can choose to ask the same question to both and see the different answers too !! Totally up to you
