A full moon can be many things - beautiful, fear filled, awe inspiring... Did you know that there are names for each full moon? In this swap you'll have one partner and make one 4x4 piece representing one of the full moons. On the back of your 4x4 you'll include your Swap-bot name and the name for the moon you've chosen to represent. What images come to mind when you hear names like Thunder Moon, Stawberry Moon, Chaste Moon and Fish Moon? Below are a few links to full moon names. If you know other names feel free to use them -- be sure to note the moon name you used on the back of your 4x4. http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/moonnames.htm http://www.farmersalmanac.com/astronomy/fullmoonnames.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_moon What's a 4x4? It's a square piece of art that measures 4 inches by 4 inches. You can use any sturdy backing material -- think at least the thickness of a playing card. How do you decorate it? Paint, ink or pencil, collage, fabric, glue on bits and pieces from found objects...it's up to you. The end result should be something you'd enjoy hanging on your wall -- so work with care and make a nice effort. Go on line and look for Art Squared or 4x4. This is an international swap. Before signing up, please make sure you are willing to send outside your home country. Participants must have a Swap-bot rating of at least 4 to join. New Swap-bot members should complete their profile, give a link to photographs of their art/craft (Flickr, Photobucket, a blog, etc.) and list their swapping experience in the comments below. Anyone without a profile, photos and no details on prior swapping will be removed from this trade before partners are assigned. |
