Dotee Doll Fabric Swap--International

I can hardly wait for this swap! I have so much fabulous fabric in small quantities, I hardly know where to start! :o)

Me, too! I bought a lot of small pieces of beautiful fancy fabric for making dotees, and haven't made very many yet!

Just to make sure I understand this right, we are sending 1 piece of 2 different fabrics to each of our 4 partners, right?

You should have 2 pieces of each different fabric (enough to make a dotee--one piece folded to have the right size front and back can count as the two pieces) we'll have 4 partners, and send each of them 2 piece sets of two different fabrics --4 total dotee size pieces of fabric, or enough to make two dotees....boy! this is confusing!

Basically you need to send two sets of fabrics to each of your 4 partners, so they have enough to make two dotees from what you send, and all of their partners will send the same thing, so we'll all end up with 8 2-piece sets of different fabrics--2 from each of our partners.

Is that any clearer?

Thanks goodness we now have at least 8 participants, too, so it doesn't get any more confusing if we had to send to the same person twice--how would Swap-bot handle that I wonder, if there were only 3 participants for example?

Oh, let's not go there!

Just to be on the safe side, I plan to send extra 2-piece sets of fabrics, just because I have a lot--that way no one will get shorted!

ok newby here I plan on signing up for this swap just have to get out a card that is not due for awile but will allow me to sign up for this swap as I am only allowed like 5, what a drag. New to making dotee dolls so would love to have some fabric and to share some of mine. Look for me I am hurring don't start without me. lol Kathy

I just joined. :) I've been watching this one and trying to "whittle" down my list before joining. But the deadline is approaching and I don't want to miss out. I've not made a dotee doll yet. I've got some faces made and I've traded some fabric and embellishments for some and I love the ones I've received.

I want to buy some nice fabric to make Dottee's, now I can, because I can keep some for me and share some. Great!

I have a lot of smaller pieces of fabric and would be able to fulfil without them all being the same.. is that ok? In another words.. all will have unique sets?

Also, Does the set have to co-ordinate? I dont think so because each piece is making one dotee right? not one front and one back? We should be able to make 8 diff dolls when done right?

Swapbot makes uneven swaps work out somehow. I don't understand how it does it, but I have had several where there are an uneven number of swappers...

Drummy, I think I get what you are saying--It's good to have unique sets of fabric--the two pieces of each fabric should be at least from the same length--sometimes there are different gradients of color and pattern, but that's ok.

And yes, same fabric for front and back, 8 different dotees resulting.
