Description: | |
This swap is for USA/Canada only - I MAY run an international version, in a couple weeks, and yes, US swappers can be in both. I ran this swap several times, a few years ago, and it turned out to be some of the most fun projects I was involved in! I hope you enjoy it, as much as the swappers did then! This swap is for a journal that each person decorates, and then, sends it onward, to a first "swap partner". (You will be assigned ONE partner thru swap-bot.) Then THAT person decorates several pages, writes some fun/inspirational/poetic/encouraging things, adds some embellishments, etc, and then sends it ONWARD to their swap partner, the "next name" on the list - You will each receive an emailed or messaged, a list of the "Journal's Journey", so you will always know who you are sending to, and who you will receive from. IMPORTANT: Please be willing to commit to sending the journal onward within 8 DAYS after receiving it, so that it does not take TOOOOOO long to make its journey. URGENT - - I MUST have a valid current telephone number for every participant in the swap, so please either email or message me with it. I will NOT share it or abuse the privilege of being trusted with it, but I must be able to reach everyone, in case there are journals that are waylaid. (Ya with me so far?) The group size is limited to about SEVEN at this time. The group size MAY be adjusted, but larger groups raises the risk factor of journals getting waylaid. Please give me your thoughts on this, below. If you have ANY no-send ratings, please contact me before signing up, or clear them up before the deadline. This group has a major responsibility of carefully handling every person's journal, and I do not want to introduce the possibility of any of them being "misplaced" along the way. Two weeks from sign-up deadline to sending off your journal - you can get it now, and start decorating it - IMPORTANT - - BE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME (AND SWAP-BOT NAME) AND ADDRESS SOMEWHERE INSIDE THE FRONT OR BACK COVER OR SOMEPLACE VERY VISIBLE! ALSO, be sure to SIGN the pages that you complete in each other's journals! TO AVOID THE POSSIBILITY of missing someone on the list, and also to be better able to "track down" any missing journals, each "journal journey" will be the same - in other words, you will always send to (and receive from) the SAME person. Since we are a group of experienced and committed swappers, hopefully, we all know what it's like to be at the receiving end of flakers and no-sends - - and also can appreciate how important communication is, to a successful swap. Therefore, be sure that you ALWAYS post here that you've received a journal and when you've sent it onward (I do keep track of each journal's whereabouts, and the information also will reassure the others, to feel safe about sending these little gems "out into the world". I'm sorry, but since this is a pretty major undertaking, newbies are not a part of this group. I want everyone to get their wonderfully decorated journals BACK when they are DONE! (This swap may be run every other month (or oftener), so if you miss this one, you can let me know and I'll contact you when another one is started.) You CAN check out people's profiles when you are decorating their journals, but I want you to put YOURSELF into your expression, and be creative with it. Hope we can have some fun with this!
