Description:

This is an INTERNATIONAL swap for the Flickr Artist Trading Card group. If you want to join, please do! http://www.flickr.com/groups/artisttradingcards/

For this swap you will have three partners. You'll make eighteen background cards for ATCs. Then you'll send six to each. (6 x 3 = 18)

Each background card should be distinct and different. In other words, don't just cut eighteen pieces from the same sheet of paper and send it out.

The idea is to have you paint, collage or use some specialty-type paper then apply that to cards. The cards should be a sturdy material, about the thickness of a playing card or sports trading card.

Please don't send pre-cut white or solid color blanks! You want to have a card show some texture, pattern or something interesting that your partners can immediately work on! Ideas might be to try some melted crayon, marble patterned paper, stencil on some diamond shapes using chalk or paint, glue on some text from an old book and color it up using some marker, etc.

If you work it right, you should be able to create some backgrounds for your own use, too!

Sign up by September 25, send by October 25th.

Do we wait to be assigned partners or can we go ahead and start making our backgrounds now?

Sorry I didn't respond to this earlier -- I think you are always OK to do this kind of a swap set-up before partners are assigned. I did that this morning, though, so I think you are good to go now!
