Description: | |
I thought it would be fun to do a journal challenge inspired by Thanksgiving, so our theme this time around is leftovers! The challenge for this swap is to create a page that features the use of remnants from other projects. Then you will email a photo of the completed page to your partners. There is no wrong way to make this page, the only way to fail is not to make one :) You may use any materials you like, just be creative and go wherever the prompt takes you. This will be our last challenge for 2015 because I know how crazy the holidays can get! I always end up with strips of paper cut from the edges of painting, punchies that didn't come out quite right, small pieces of washi, etc. Those are the types of things I mean by leftovers, but of course you are welcome to interpret the challenge however your artsy mind wants to. The email should include a brief description of the techniques, materials, etc that you used. and anything else you'd like to tell your partner about the process or inspiration. Any mode of "art journal" is fine. Sketch book, planner, notebook, smashbook, junk journal, etc. All acceptable. The point is just to get the creative juices flowing and to hopefully be further inspired by seeing what others are doing. Themes we've done so far are: Mandala Hearts Movies/TV Pick a Color The Ocean Use a Stencil Mushrooms Currently List Do this tutorial (peacock feather) Overheard Conversation On a separate note: For the 2016 Art Challenges we are going to put up a list of words on our chalk board wall so if you would like to contribute some ideas, we'd love to have them! You can post below or send me a PM. We are looking for single or words or short phrases (2-3 words at most). They can be any words that you like! They do not have to be related to the current challenge, this is for a whole new project!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with. We will compile a master list of all suggestions and then narrow down from there to whatever we can fit on the wall. |
