Description:

Another out of the ordinary 9 little pockets. You will need a graphic large enough to fill the complete pocket page. (Many scrapbook paper companies make fantastic double sided card stock pages perfect for this.) Or you can create a master sheet of your own. For the example above I used a Graphic45 design.

Instead of cutting your cards ATC size you will cut them to fill your pockets. My dimensions for the one shown are 2 5/8 x 3 5/8 for the top 3 pockets and the other 6 were cut 2 5/8 x 3 3/4. Some pocket pages vary so be sure and check. The easiest way is to lay the empty pocket on your graphic and note where the center lies. We want this to look as much like the original as possible so no large gaps and no trimmed areas between pockets. Make sure the back is not just blank. It is easiest if you use a brand name card stock with designs front and back but if you created your own please take the time to add a little pizzazz to the back.

To decorate use stickers, tape, ribbons, paperclips, etc....anything fastened to the outside of the pockets. There is no need to decorate the actual card in the pocket. Because we are decorating outside the pockets, mailing flat in a large envelope is advised.

You may tuck goodies in the back but it is not required. Please be sure to include at least a small card or letter with your name and swap information. (For my previous one of these, I added the goodies in a smaller envelope alongside the pocket page. Just a suggestion.)

I reserve the right to excuse anyone that may alter the success of this swap or spoil the fun of the participants

Our members seem open minded enough to enjoy learning about other traditions so if you do not celebrate Christmas and want to participate I have no reservations against you making a Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or other holiday pocket but PLEASE check with your partner first. Please be prepared to do a Christmas 9 LP if they insist.

Are you saying that front and back sizes should be 2 5/8 x 3 5/8 for three then 2 5/8 x 3 3/4 the rest? Different then cutting usual ATC size?

Thank you for the sizes! I tried to do a whole sheet with words, but ended up with half the letters cut off. An epic fail. lol

I have mostly fails with attempts to cut paper in these sizes... I spoiled 3 sheets trying to do the winter one a couple weeks ago and so far can't get this one to cut right either so I'm just going to humbly remove myself from these swaps that require me to fill the pocket larger than 2 1/2 x 3 1/2... LOL... strange how something that should be so simple just boggles my brain!

I'm having the same problem, @hag53 When I cut the top 2 5/8 x 3 5/8, it was the right dimesions, but the paper wouldn't fit in the pocket.

yeah, simplyfunmom, I tried again last night to figure this out, but I can't make the papers fit without having to re-arrange and trim which then means that there are little pieces missing that shouldn't be missing... I'll stick to pocket/letter pocket/page swaps that let you cut the regular 2 1/2 x 3 1/2...

I am so sorry you are having troubles with this sort of swap. I did say "My dimensions" but it seems that for every different brand of pocket page there are a different set of measurements.

The whole idea was to cut the papers to fill each pocket fully so as to make the background picture as seamless as possible. Unfortunately unless you measure you pocket page and cut your papers exactly things do seem to get messed up. Then to finish them off the decorations were to go on the outside of the pockets.

Early in 2016 I am going to host another "SNOW" one of these and some that use the standard ATC paper as well. I do hope you find one that you feel comfortable about joining and have fun with it.

If you ever have any more questions about this type or anything else, please feel free to message me directly.

Happy Swapping, SuZi
