Description: | |
This is a fabric swap with a difference. First, send your partner some fabric in one colour or colour group. The fabric should total at least a quarter of a yard (or metre for us Europeans!) You may either send one fat or long quarter, a collection of charm squares (no less than 5 inches square) or a set of strips (no less than 4 inches wide). I have kept this flexible so you can swap material already in your stash. So for example, send one blue Fat quarter or a collection of strips in different tones of blue. The material need not be plain but should be almost all one colour or shades of the same colour. Then, send your partner some pictures (probably cut from magazines, or it could be your own photos or a postcard) showing the colour that you have chosen to send being used with other colours. These may be pictures of nature, food, decorating schemes, clothes etc. The idea is to give your partner ideas for a colour scheme for their fabric craft that might push them beyond their habitual use of colour and to give them some 'free' material to experiment with. So try to give them pictures with unusual or striking combinations of colour. Feel free to comment below about the colours you usually work with or those you would like to experiment more with. This is an intenational swap. I will ban anyone with more than one no send (unless you e-mail with an acceptable explanation) or rating of less than 4. |
