Description:

Time to play with your food. I haven't made a potato print since I was in elementary school, but I feel that this medium is absolutely filled with potential for great artwork!

Here's what you do: Chop a potato with a knife so there's a flat moist inside surface. Use any tools you have around to carve a shape into that surface like you would a rubber stamp. Print with paint or printmaking ink or dye or whatever pigment carrying substance you have on hand. Make three cards and send one to each of your three partners. Feel free to carve up more than one potato and print multiple images on a card - it's okay to be daring!

The rules:
You don't have to be a "Great Artist" to make a completely amazing potato print. Just try and make something that's interesting and cool and well-made.
Your card needs to include the swap title and your username on the back.
Cards should be sent un-enveloped.
A big part of this swap is writing some sort of interesting message to your partner on the back of the card. Whatever you want to say!
Have fun!

What great tutorials, thanks for finding those! It's funny that the person who posted the instructions on their blog did exactly what I plan on doing, and went the adorable-creature potato print route.

Psst... if anyone has made an extra postcard for this swap, you could send it to Carroll, who accidentally deleted herself from this swap. PM me for her addy if you need it! Cheers, Sam
